Could your Rural Business benefit from Grant Funding in Northumberland?
The Northumberland Small Business Service is a collaborative initiative between Northumberland National Park Authority, Advance Northumberland, and Northumberland County Council. It aims to support rural businesses in Northumberland by promoting growth, resilience, and sustainability.
The service is delivered by Advance Northumberland on behalf of Northumberland County Council and is partially funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority Investment Fund, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, and the Rural England Prosperity Fund. The North of Tyne Combined Authority is the lead authority for the project.
The Northumberland Small Business Service was developed following a comprehensive rural review conducted by Northumberland County Council in 2022. It offers various services, including business development, diagnostic support, and brokerage.
One of the key features of the program is a capital grant investment fund, which has £2 million available for direct capital investment. These Rural Business Grants are intended to support the expansion of productive capacity and the exploration of new markets or products. Grants will be awarded based on their potential to create and protect jobs in the rural sector, with funding ranging from £10,000 to £300,000.
There has been an increased demand for the knowledge and advice of the Farming and Rural Enterprise team in recent years, as farmers and landowners adapt to new agricultural policies focused on nature recovery, climate action, and access.
Farm businesses in Northumberland that could benefit from the support offered by the Northumberland Small Business Service are encouraged to contact nsbsfarming@nnpa.org.uk for more information.
